Wasting Your Tax Dollars

While the national debt rises without relief from Congress or the White House and the cost of living goes up based on the over-regulated federal government, your tax dollars are being spent or planning to be spent without consciousness:
  • The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to spend up to $10.4 million in taxpayer dollars to “empower” young girls in Malawi to use birth control to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, particularly HIV - which disproportionately affects young females - even though such efforts have failed in the past.

  •  Thousands of high school students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), including those who scored below average on their eighth grade reading and math tests, will soon be encouraged to learn how to sell Obamacare to their families under a $43 million federal grant
  • Just two days after the Pentagon began furloughing hundreds of thousands of civilian personnel due to budget cuts, the Army ordered its second batch of televisions for the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay, an expense totaling more than $80,000 in the last two months.
  • The State Department through its Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs is planning to spend $95,000 to provide vocational training to Haitian inmates in textile production and assembly.
  • The taxpayer-funded National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a $487,049 grant to a Brown University archaeologist for her “three-year study exploring gender, textiles and society in Iceland from the Viking Age to help to "mitigate climate change."
  • Just how dangerous is it to your health to shack up with a Mexican hooker? That’s the question at the heart of a five-year, $3,029,663 study by researchers at the University of California San Diego funded by the National Institutes of Health.
  • The federal government hopes spending half-million dollars researching ways to develop more energy efficient software for mobile applications – instead of a longer lasting battery – could eventually produce more energy efficient software for much larger programs.
  • President Barack Obama on Friday pledged a $3 billion U.S. contribution to an international fund to help poor countries cope with the effects of climate change, putting the issue front and center of the G20 Leaders Summit in Australia

  • The National Science Foundation shelled out nearly a million taxpayer dollars to determine if captive mountain lions could be trained to ride a treadmill. The University of California-Santa Cruz researcher even boasted about receiving the grant saying, “People just didn’t believe you could get a mountain lion on a treadmill, and it took me three years to find a facility that was willing to try.” If anyone was wondering, it took the lions all of eight months to learn
  • Another NSF grant funded the study of gambling monkeys. Under the guise of studying the “hot-hand bias” in human gamblers, the University of Rochester devised a computer game, taught monkeys to play it, and studied how they responded to winning and losing. A doctoral candidate who worked on the study seemed pleased to learn, “Luckily, monkeys love to gamble.” Taxpayers, on the other hand, will not be pleased to find out this study is set to continue through May of 2018. Cost to taxpayers: $171,000.
  • As polls show climate change is dead last on the Americans’ list of priorities, the NSF felt the need to help “spur climate change activism.” They paid Columbia University to develop a video game entitled “Future Coast,” where rising seas cause mass chaos and weather calamities of epic proportions. The story is set to a bunch of voicemails from the future describing the anarchy. Cost to taxpayers: $5.2 million.
This list is not complete. I could publish at a 100 page pamphlet for all the wasted dollars the federal government spends or plans to spend. Notice that the biggest and most wasteful of the federal agencies is the NSF - National Science Foundation.
I would like to add a link that addresses the problems the government EPA puts upon citizens under the banner of ecology, too much based on junk science and political foundations. The EPA and political organizations are making your energy bills becoming more unaffordable.
Meanwhile, veterans are denied benefits and Congress figures out ways to screw them over, like the legislation passed in 1996, after Congress decided it was paying too much for veterans, which established the mandate that medical benefit checks will be deducted from military retirement pay. Their reasoning was/is not to pay twice, despite that retirement and program muster pay is entirely separate from the Veterans Administration and its medical disability benefits. For those who took the early-out program severance pay for leaving military earlier than retirement, if they qualify for medical benefits, it is deducted from that severance pay until it is paid back. In other words, government made a contracted promise and figured out a way to get it back. If any military personnel who accepted that program took the earl-out program check in one-lump sum instead of monthly installments - the government took back one third of it in income tax.
While American people are treated in this manner across the board - millions and billions of dollars goes to foreign nations and people and scams like the United Nations "Green Fund".
The federal government, over the decades, has diminished its accountability; accelerating with Obama and political clan in power with the help of RINOs of the GOP.
Will not parliamentary Taxation, if established, raise a revenue unjustly and wrongfully? If this Revenue is scattered by the Hand of Corruption, among the public officers, and magistrates and Rulers, in the Community, will it not propagate Vices more numerous, more malignant and pestilential among them? ... And does not the Example of Vice and Folly, in Magistrates descend and spread downwards among the People?  -- John Adams; Revolutionary Writings, 1755-1775; page 303-304.
