SOTU 2015: So Much Unjustified Patting One's Own Back

CNS NewsWhen he was running for president seven years ago, and appearing in a nationally televised forum held by a Christian pastor at a Christian church, Barack Obama said he believed that marriage was a “sacred union” that was “between a man and a woman.” ...in his State of the Union Address, Obama said that legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States is one of the things he has seen that represents “America at its best.” It reveals that politicians like Obama will say anything to get elected and once elected do whatever they intended in the first place.

John Bolton - “Living in a Dream World” … In State of Union address, Obama said: "In Iraq and Syria, American leadership -- including our military power -- is stopping ISIL's advance. Instead of getting dragged into another ground war in the Middle East, we are leading a broad coalition, including Arab nations, to degrade and ultimately destroy this terrorist group. We're also supporting a moderate opposition in Syria that can help us in this effort, and assisting people everywhere who stand up to the bankrupt ideology of violent extremism." On the same day, Islamic State Jihadists released a video threatening to kill two Japanese hostages within 72 hours unless Japan pays $200 million in ransom. Obama traded five Jihadists in Gitmo for one US Army deserter. Despite air strikes and other inept Obama operations, ISIL is growing, not receding.
CNS News, Susan Jones … President Obama has insulted Israel and its leadership and caused strained relationship between the battered state and the US. Obama did not address this in SOTU speech, but House Speaker, John Boehner, has invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress “on the grave threats of radical Islam and the threat that Iran poses, to not only the Middle East but frankly to the world.”
Terence P. JeffreyPresident Obama's disrespect for motherhood has manifested itself in policies ranging from support for same-sex marriage to defense of a form of abortion that involves forcing a baby into a drug-induced premature delivery and then leaving that little one to die. … Thus, it should come as no surprise that as he closes out his presidency Obama is proposing a new policy that discriminates against married stay-at-home mothers and provides an incentive for mothers not to take care of their own children. The president's tax proposal would "streamline child care tax benefits and triple the maximum child care credit for middle class families with young children, increasing it to $3,000 per child," says a White House statement on Obama's new proposal to adjust the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit. "The president's child care tax proposals would benefit 5.1 million families, helping them cover child care costs for 6.7 million children (including 3.5 million children under 5)."
Stephen Moore & Joel GriffithIn President Obama’s State of the Union preview, he touted low gas prices as an example of positive economic results. … But can the president claim credit for these savings? Not so much. … In word and in deed, Obama has made no secret of his abhorrence of the oil, gas and coal industries. Through regulation at EPA, through a virtual drilling moratorium on federal lands, and by not building pipelines, the president has done almost everything imaginable to stop domestic oil production. For him to take credit for cheaper energy is like Brandon Bostick taking credit for the Seattle Seahawks going to the Super Bowl. … The private sector delivered the domestic energy boom and lower gas prices—despite attempts by anti-carbon ideologues and misguided bureaucrats.
The following is a White House PR video, once again complaining about being passed a bad legacy while he has been busy in destructive policy …

It is no wonder that Hugh Hewitt wrote: ...Tonight President Obama will give a speech few Americans will watch much less remember, and it will lack even a gracious gesture such as Bush's appreciation of Pelosi. … In truth --the hard, cold political truth-- President Obama is a spent force in American politics. Capable, of course, of creating more mischief and of obstructing urgently needed repairs brought about by his epic incompetence, but spent. Like a zoning board packed with no-growthers after an earthquake, President Obama can veto rebuilding, for a time. His inactivity and inane decrees can make a terrible situation worse on the health care front, and can accelerate the collapse of care even as meaningless numbers march out of the mouths of his advisors. His EPA can continue its job killing assault on every industry that employs high wage blue collar workers. He can continue to deliver nonsense speeches about his Harvey-the-rabbit programs he expects Congress to pass. ...the country is out of patience with the in-over-his-head president and his D Team of short-timers, already pocketing matchbooks and other souvenirs. … Put your hope in the French and the Israelis, and a veto-proof majority in favor of imposing sanctions on Iran, and watch as the country experiments with an all-but empty Oval Office for two years.
Charles Krauthammer, National ReviewThe visionary of 2008 — purveyor of hope and change, healer of the earth, tamer of the rising seas — offered an hour of little things: tax-code tweaks to encourage this or that kind of behavior (manufacturing being the flavor of the day), little watchdog agencies to round up Wall Street miscreants and Chinese DVD pirates, even a presidential demand “that all students stay in high school until they graduate or turn 18.” Under penalty of what? Jail? The self-proclaimed transformer of America is now playing truant officer? … Of course, this being Obama, there was a reach for grandeur. Hope and change are long gone. It’s now equality and fairness. That certainly is a large idea. Lenin and Mao went pretty far with it. … If the Republicans can’t beat that in November, they should try another line of work.

It is going to take some time to reform the federal government and get it back on the constitutional track; but that is only if they start earnestly working at it now.
One of the people sitting with First Lady who represented "economic success" was a Democrat Political Campaign Staffer for Obama. Like I said, nothing but a dog-and-pony show for any president - so stop wasting air time (and taxpayer funding) and send a paper report to Congress of the State of the Union.  Many people did not bother to watch it anyway. I kept getting PR email from the White House pushing all the great things that Obama intends to do (and has allegedly done) and hyping about not missing the SOTU presentation, to include a link for satellite feed to watch him talk, but say nothing.
Allen West narrows down the Obama 80-minute speech into 5 minutes.
Conn Carroll describes Obama's SOTU as "State of Disunion".
